VACANCIES

The University of Jaffna will entertain applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the following Permanent Posts. Closing date of the application is 14th September 2026.

  1. Sub Warden (Full Time), Grade II – (Male/ Female)
  2.  Livestock Assistant, Grade III
  3. Nursing Officer, Grade II
  4. Instrument Caretaker cum Repairer, Grade III
  5. Gardener, Grade III
  6. Storeman, Grade III
  7. Postmortem Labourer, Grade III

1. SUB WARDEN (FULL TIME), GRADE II – (MALE/ FEMALE) – 02 VACANCIES – MALE – KILINOCHCHI PREMISES, FEMALE – JAFFNA PREMISES

Qualifications:

  • A graduate of a recognized university. Preference will be given to those with experience in administration and management of Hostels.

Age :

  • Not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age on the closing date of the application.

Salary Scale :

  • U-MN 3(II) – Rs.71,365-18×1,190-92,785 p.m.

2. LIVESTOCK ASSISTANT, GRADE III – 01 VACANCY – FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE

Qualifications:

  •  G.C.E (Ordinary Level) Examination in 6 subjects at not more than 2 sittings.
    AND
  • Successful completion of one year’s practical training course in Animal Husbandry conducted by the Department of Agriculture or equivalent.

Age :

  • Not less than 18 years and not more than 40 years of age on the closing date of the application.

Salary Scale :

  • U-MT 1(III) – Rs.51,095-7×540;10×640-60,575 p.m

Selection by : Interview

3. NURSING OFFICER GRADE II – 01 VACANCY

Qualifications:

  • GCE (Ordinary Level) Examination in Six subjects at not more than two sitting with credit passes in three subjects.
    AND
  • Certificate of competence as a Nurse recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council.

Age :

  • Not less than 18 years and not more than 40 years of age on the closing date of the application.

Salary Scale :

  • U-MT 1(III) – Rs.51,095-7×540;10×640-60,575 p.m

Selection : By Interview

4. INSTRUMENT CARETAKER CUM REPAIRER, GRADE III – 02 VACANCIES

  • Should have sat for the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination.
  • Should have at least two (02) years’ experience and ability in repairing and fixing Musical Instruments or Dancing Instruments or Arts & Sculpture Instruments in a Higher Educational Institute or reputed institute.
  • Experience in maintenance of issue registers and storage of Instruments.

Age :

  • Not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age on the closing date of the application.

Salary Scale :

  • U-MN 1(III) – Rs.49,475-17×540-58,655 p.m

Selection by : Practical Test and Interview.

5. GARDENER, GRADE III – 01 VACANCY – FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE
6. STOREMAN, GRADE III – 02 VACANCIES – FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE & ENGINEERING SERVICE DIVISION

Qualifications (for the above posts Gardener and Storeman)

  • Should have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects with at least two (02) credit passes in not more than two sittings.

Age :

  • Age should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age on the closing date of the application.

Selection By :

  • Trade test and/ or Structured Interview.

Salary Scale :

  • U-PL 1(III) – Rs.42,775-16×450-49,975 p.m

7. POSTMORTEM LABOURER, GRADE III – 03 VACANCIES

Qualifications

  • Should have sat for the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination.

Age :

  • Should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age on the closing date of the application.

Selection By : Trade Test and/ or Structured Interview.

Salary Scale :

  • U-PL 1(III) – Rs.42,775-16×450-49,975 p.m

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS APPLICABLE

  • Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
  • Should be physically and mentally fit to discharge duties of the post well and should be ready to serve in any part of the island.
  • Should be of excellent moral character.

  3. Educational/ Professional qualifications and experience, only as at the closing date of the applications, will be considered. Applications without uploaded copies of Educational/ Professional and Experience certificates will be rejected.

Only for the applicants from the University System, Government Departments, State-Owned Corporations, and Statutory Boards are required to apply online and thereafter download the completed application form. The downloaded application must be duly endorsed by the Head of the respective Institution and forwarded by registered post to the following address on or before the closing date. (The age limit shall not apply to applicants employed in the University System, Government Departments, State-Owned Corporations, and Statutory Boards.)
