FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES AND COMMERCE

University of Jaffna will entertain applications from qualified Sri Lankan Nationals for the undermentioned Temporary posts.

  • Temporary Assistant Lecturer / Temporary Demonstrator in
    Accounting / Commerce / Financial Management / Human Resource Management / Marketing / Tourism and Hospitality Management
  • Temporary Instructor in Computing – Dean’s Office

 Minimum Requirements/Qualifications for Temporary Assistant Lecturer/Temporary Demonstrator

  1. A Degree with specialization in the relevant subject with First Class or Second Class (Upper Division) Honours;
    OR
  2. A Degree with specialization in the relevant subject with Second Class (Lower Division) Honours;
    OR
  3. (a) A Degree with specialization in the relevant subject without Honours or any other degree with at least Second Class Honours,
    AND
    (b) a recognized postgraduate degree in the relevant subject.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications for Temporary Computer Instructor

  1. A Degree with specialization in the Computer Science/Information Technology with First Class or Second Class (Upper Division) Honours;
    OR
  2. A Degree with specialization in the Computer Science/Information Technology with Second Class (Lower Division) Honours;
    OR
  3. (a) A Degree with specialization in the Computer Science/Information Technology without Honours or any other degree with at least Second Class Honours,
    AND
    (b) a recognized postgraduate degree in the relevant subject.

Salary and other benefits

  • Temporary Assistant Lecturer– A fixed monthly salary of 85,305/-subject to a deduction of Rs.8,906/- as an unpaid amount, in accordance with Commission Circular No.02/2025(i) dated 04.04.2025.
  • Temporary Demonstrator – A fixed monthly salary of 68,145/-subject to a deduction of Rs.6,029/- as an unpaid amount, in accordance with Commission Circular No.02/2025(i) dated 04.04.2025.
  • Temporary Computer Instructor – A fixed monthly salary of 68,145/-subject to a deduction of Rs.6,029/- as an unpaid amount, in accordance with Commission Circular No.02/2025(i) dated 04.04.2025.

In addition to the above salary, the allowances approved by University Grants Commission applicable to the posts will also be paid.

Note: Candidates who are awaiting the results of the final degree examinations may also apply for the post of Temporary Demonstrator/Instructor.

Duly completed application forms along with payment receipt and relevant educational certificates to be posted to the  below mentioned address: Deputy Registrar, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, 10th Lane, Kalasalai Road, Thirunelvely,Jaffna. Please mention the Post, Department in the Left hand upper corner of the Envelope.

Those who wish to apply for more than one post should submit separate application for each post. Applicants from the University System/Government Departments/Corporations and Statutory Board should channel their applications through the Head of respective Institutions. Illegible, incomplete and late applications will be rejected without intimation. Only short-listed applicants will be called for an interview.
