Programme Report on USBus – Bringing America to You

The USBus – Mobile American Space programme is an initiative of the U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka. It was hosted at the University of Jaffna in collaboration with the Career Guidance Unit of the University of Jaffna on 27 and 28 April 2026.
The programme offered interactive learning opportunities in STEM education, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, leadership development, and American English language skills. It also provided guidance on higher education opportunities in the United States through EducationUSA and access to eLibraryUSA resources.
Over 150 students and staff participated in the two-day programme, representing the University of Jaffna and several other institutions, including the College of Technology – Jaffna, University College of Jaffna, Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE) – Jaffna, National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) – Jaffna, and the Ocean University of Sri Lanka – Jaffna Centre.
The initiative promoted knowledge exchange, skills development, and awareness of global higher education opportunities among participants.
