University of Jaffna will entertain applications from qualified persons for the under-mentioned post up to Friday, 4th September 2026.
- Post of Temporary Research Assistant
“Lee Foundation Endowment for Orthopaedic Surgery – Professorial Surgical Unit Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna”
Salary Scale:
A fixed monthly salary of Rs.85,305/= subject to a deduction of Rs.8,906/= as an unpaid amount, in accordance with Commission Circular No.02/2025 (i) dated 04.04.2025. In addition to the above salary, the allowances approved by the University Grants Commission applicable to the post will be paid.
Qualifications:-
- Pre-intern medical officers:
Those who have completed the Final MBBS Examination.
Selection will be based on the merit list.
- Para-Medical or science-based qualified graduates:
- A First or Second Class (Upper Division) in a Special Degree Examination in the relevant field.
OR
- A Second Class (Lower Division) in a Special Degree Examination in the relevant field.
OR
- An ordinary pass in the B.Sc Special Degree Examination in the relevant field.
AND
- Excellent track record in undergraduate research, publications, IT skills, statistical analysis, and English language proficiency.
Note: Preference will be given to candidates with relevant previous experience.
Perfected applications should be sent by registered post. Applicants are requested to enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope along with the paid bank slip, and forward the same to the Senior Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, Adiyapatham Road, Kokuvil, Jaffna. The post applied for should be clearly marked on the top left-hand corner of the envelope. A non-refundable fee of Rs. 1,000.00 must be paid by bank deposit to the People’s Bank in favor of the Bursar, University of Jaffna, using Payee Code: 32675013 and Payment Code: 00900381. A copy of the bank deposit slip should be attached to the application. (Guidance for making the payment is attached herewith for your reference)
Applicants from the University System/Government Departments/Corporations and Statutory Board should channel their applications through the Head of the respective Institutions, but may send an advance copy in the first instance. However, no such applicant will be considered for an interview if the application channeled through the Head of the Department is not received.
Illegible & incomplete applications, and applications received by the University after the closing date, will be rejected without intimation. Only short-listed applicants will be called for an interview.
