The Inter-University Netball Championship 2026, organized by the University of Jaffna, was successfully held from 31st July to 2nd August 2026 at the Indoor Stadium, University of Jaffna.
Grand Opening Ceremony
The Grand Opening Ceremony was held on 31st July 2026. The ceremony was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Senior Professor T. Velnambi, as the Chief Guest, together with the Special Guests,
Mr. K. Ganeshanathan, the Retired Director of Physical Education, University of Jaffna, and
Mrs. J. SaravanapavaIyer the Retired Senior Instructor in Physical Education, University of Jaffna. A total of 16 universities from across Sri Lanka participated in this prestigious championship.
The teams were divided into four groups, and group-stage matches were conducted to determine the qualifying teams. The champions and runners-up of each group advanced to the quarter-finals.

Consolation Final
The Consolation Final was held at 2.00 p.m.

University of Sri Jayewardenepura won 50–34
Grand Final
The much-anticipated Grand Final was held at 3.00 p.m., featuring the University of Jaffna and Sabaragamuwa University. In an exciting and closely contested final, the University of Jaffna defeated Sabaragamuwa University 60–54, securing the championship title.

The Awarding Ceremony was held immediately after the Grand Final. The champions, runners-up, and second runner-up were recognized and awarded for their outstanding performances throughout the championship.
The Inter-University Netball Championship 2026 was successfully conducted through the dedicated participation and cooperation of all participating universities, officials, umpires, coaches, managers, players, volunteers, and Staff of the Physical Education Unit.
