Third International Research Conference in Education -2026

The Department of Education, Faculty of Arts, in collaboration with the Faculty of Graduate Studies, successfully concluded the 3rd International Research Conference in Education (IRCE – 2026) on the 18th of July, under the theme “Transforming Education for a Better Future.”

We were honoured to have Snr. Prof. T. Velnampy, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, as the Chief Guest. Our keynote speakers, Prof. G. Thamilvanan (Periyar Maniammai Institute) and Prof. Prasad Sethunga (University of Peradeniya), delivered powerful presentations on Techno Schools, curriculum transformation, and preparing learners for an unpredictable future.

The conference featured insightful technical sessions, a vibrant poster presentation, and a Doctoral Colloquium that showcased cutting-edge research.

The day culminated with the opening forum of the ‘Edu-Insights’ initiative. We were privileged to have Hon. N. Vethanayahan, Governor of the Northern Province, as the Chief Guest. This multi-stakeholder dialogue, chaired by Dr. S. Arivalzahan, brought together officials from the Ministry of Education and the Provincial Department of Education to tackle the critical issue of improving G.C.E. (O/L) achievement in the Northern Province.
