Applications to follow the above Degree Programme are hereby invited from suitable candidates who possess the minimum university admission requirements for the Academic Year 2025/2026. From 20.04.2026 to 07.05.2026.

Eligibility for Admissions

Candidates who wish to follow the Bachelor of Science Honours in Physical Education should have obtained at least three “S” grades in any three subjects at the G.C.E (A/L) examination 2025 and qualify for the physical fitness assessment to be eligible for the university admissions for the academic year 2025/2026. (Please refer to the University Admissions Handbook 2025/2026)

Method of Evaluation

Applications will be evaluated on the basis of practical test and previous sports achievements as below:

Submission of Application

Applicants are hereby requested to apply online through the University website on or before 07.05.2026. Payment receipt of application fee and certified copy of the G.C.E (A/L) 2025 result sheet, and certified copies of certificates of their highest sports achievements, certified by the principal of the school or a Justice of the Peace, must be uploaded along with the application.

The downloaded application form signed by the candidate, the original payment receipt, G.C.E (A/L) 2025 result sheet and certified copies of sports achievement certificates should be sent under registered cover or handed over to Senior Assistant Registrar, Admissions Branch, University of Jaffna, Ramanathan Road, Thirunelvely, Jaffna by mentioning “Application for Physical Education – 2025/2026” in the left hand corner of the envelope to reach the above address before 09.05.2026.

Eligible candidates will receive the Admission Card only via email.

Payment Method

The application fee may be made at any branch of the People’s Bank in favour of the University of Jaffna collection account. Please note that payment can be made as per the following methods.

The applications of those who do not accompany the paying-in voucher, the certified photocopy of G.C.E (A/L) 2025 results sheet, or applications received after the closing date will be rejected.

Note: The students whose results were withheld, and the students who are not eligible for University Admission but have already applied for re-scrutiny of the GCE (A/L) 2025 examination results, may also apply, subject to verification of their eligibility later.
